An Audience represents the entire traffic that occurs on your website. A good personalization strategy starts with good segmentation, as this enables you to deliver the right experience to the right visitor segments in the right context.
A segment is a subgroup of an audience, which it shares specific characteristics with based on purchasing behavior, browsing behavior and the psychographic approach.
Audience Manager enables you to segment your audience, to manage and monitor performance, as well as to activate your segments.
It is made up of two main tabs:
Displaying Audience Manager
To display Audience Manager, go to the navigation bar and click the Audience tab. If you have created one or more segments, the Segments tab is displayed.
If you haven't created any segments yet, the Template Gallery tab is displayed by default.
The Template Gallery tab
The Template Gallery tab enables you to create a custom segment outside of the campaign creation process.
To define your segment, you can choose between:
Once your segment has been created, it becomes visible in the Segment tab, as well as in the Targeting section of all your campaigns.
You can make changes to the segmentation criteria (title, description and segments criteria) later, during the targeting step of the campaign configuration process or directly in the Segments tab.
Creating a segment from a template
AB Tasty offers segment templates, which are pre-configured with one or more targeting criteria. Each of these templates matches a typical visitor profile.
There are two types of templates:
- Standard templates;
- Premium templates (based on AI).
Creating a segment from blank
Audience Manager also enables you to create a segment from blank, choosing from the Standard and Premium segmentation criteria. This lets you create a fully customized segment.
The Segments tab
The Segments tab enables you to find the segments you have created and saved via the targeting step of a campaign or via Audience Manager, and to activate these segments on test or personalization campaigns.
The Segments tab also enables you to edit, duplicate and archive existing segments that are no longer in use.
