The Disable the Mobile SDK functionality enables you to remotely disable the AB Tasty SDK on your mobile application using iOs or Android. This means you can check if AB Tasty is the cause of errors you may be coming across and quickly disable all campaigns on your mobile application.
This function is only visible if you have the server-side option and are using version 1.1 of the iOs and Android mobile SDK.
When it is disabled, the SDK remains in the code of the application but its activity is drastically reduced. Requests are no longer sent to the AB Tasty server and test variations are no longer displayed for users to see.
Disabling the mobile SDK lets you check for the cause of errors on your application and rule out AB Tasty as a culprit.
Disabling the SDK
To disable the mobile SDK, apply the following steps:
- Click Settings in the upper right-hand menu of the dashboard.
- Click Framework
- Go to the Mobile SDK section and click Disable Mobile SDK.
A confirmation message is displayed.
- Click Yes, disable the mobile SDK to confirm or no, keep the mobile SDK enabled to cancel your action.
Mobile SDK disabling takes approximately two minutes.
Once the mobile SDK has been disabled, the following message is displayed in the interface:
“Your Mobile SDK is disabled now. Your campaigns are currently not working. You can re-enable the mobile SDK to publish your live campaigns again.”
The Disable Mobile SDK functionality does not delete the tests from your account; it simply disables them temporarily. Reporting data is also kept. The disabling of tests only becomes effective after a restart of the mobile application on the device.
Enabling the SDK
Once your mobile application has been debugged, you will need to restore the AB Tasty SDK if you want to continue carrying out tests.
To do this, click Enable Mobile SDK.
After a few minutes, AB Tasty will start working again and tests will resume on your application.
To disable AB Tasty on your website, use the functionality for Emptying the AB Tasty library in case of emergency.
