The QA mode enables you to choose the method(s) used to perform the QA of your campaign.
The aim of the QA mode is to make your campaign visible to you only, in order to visualize the configured changes and perform the QA. Your targeted visitors won’t be able to see the campaign yet.
To QA your campaign means to check that all changes, targeting and trackings have been implemented correctly before making the campaign live to your visitors (the audience targeted by your campaign).
You can enable one or both of the following parameters:
Targeting an IP address
Visitor: when selecting the Visitor option, you can either configure your own IP address (which can be shared with a network) or a specific IP address (other than the one linked to your network).
You can also target several addresses at once. To do so, click Add condition and enter the IP address. If two or more IP addresses are configured, at least one of these IP addresses will be targeted.
Range: when selecting the Range option, you need to enter the first and last IP addresses of the range. This will trigger all the IP addresses belonging to a sub-network.
🚩 Heads up
If you want to QA your campaign on mobile and desktop with your mobile in 4G/5G, and your computer connected to Wi-Fi, you must enter two different IP addresses.
Targeting a cookie
To target by cookie, enter the name and value of the cookie you want to target. If the cookie does not exist, create it in your browser with the configured name and value (either via the Edit this cookie extension or directly in your Chrome console).
You can also target several cookies at once. To do so, click Add condition and enter the cookie name and cookie value. In this case, users will have to match both conditions at once to be included in the segment (match all conditions).
⭐ Good to know
When you enable at least one parameter, the QA mode turns On.
Once you have configured the QA mode, we recommend performing the QA of your campaign.
Once you’ve finished running checks, you can disable the QA mode and launch your campaign (click the play button) for your targeted audience.
💡 Use cases
Targeting by IP is the easiest and fastest way to QA your campaign. It enables you to QA your campaign on all devices and browsers at the same time.
Targeting by cookie may be useful If you work in a big company with a shared IP address.
Using this method is safer because when you QA your campaign by IP, your colleagues may be able to see your campaign on their own device. The cookie method is local, meaning you have to manually add the cookie in your browser (the Edit this cookie extension can be useful) or in your Chrome console. You will be the only one to see the campaign. However, with this method, you will need to repeat the operation for each browser you want to QA.
