In the new reports, data isn't displayed in real time and can take 60 minutes to several hours to appear. This is due to the fact that the new data collection mode (or Universal Collect) records visitor hits once their session has expired (i.e. after 30 minutes of inactivity). It then takes some time for the received data to be processed before it is displayed in the reports.
The real time activities screen enables you to instantly display hits on a campaign. This provides a global view of the actions carried out by users who visit your website. This service is only available on demand for a specific campaign and helps you perform the QA of your campaign.
We recommend that you enable the QA mode on your campaign before clicking Launch Realtime Data in your campaign report. This way, you can make sure information is forwarded correctly before launching your campaign and starting data collection.

The collection of the newest data is automated. When new hits have been received, the refresh button is available in the interface. |
The table displaying hits includes the following information:
Information |
Explanation |
Hit |
The type of hit received. You can get additional information about the value of the hit by hovering over its label (e.g. transaction revenue, event label, segment key) |
Date and time |
The date (dd/mm/yyyy format) and time the hit was received on |
Variation ID |
The ID of the variation the action was carried out on |
URL |
The URL of the page the action was carried out on |
Device |
The type of device the user carried out the action on (PC, mobile or tablet) |
Visitor ID |

Hits are displayed in chronological order, which means the most recent hit is found at the top of the screen.
Once the variation has recorded 500 hits, the oldest hits must be deleted in order for more to be displayed. The system automatically deletes the oldest hits (particularly those carried out by visitors over 10 minutes ago). This means that when the number of hits received within a 10-minute period exceeds 500, this screen only displays a sample of the actual activity.
